Well it seems like the conference finals are not going to be the dud that some have said they were. Serves you right for counting the chickens before they hatch.
So why did it take Stevens 4 games before changing up the lines? Hitchcock wouldn’t have made it out of the first period in game 1 before he would have mixed them up. Stevens needs to be more proactive in getting the matchups he wants.
I cant remember seeing Hatcher looking that pissed off in that fight. The series is finally getting good.
Why no pregame coverage on Versus? It is the freaking NHL conference finals. Instead Versus thinks I should be watching some dumbass who almost kill himself on a skateboard or being stepped on by a bull. There is plenty of stuff they could use to fill it.
Lets start with Christine Simpson. I don’t mind the interviews, but why the F is she doing interviews while hockey is being played? Its very distracting. Oh, I would rather hear from Umberger’s mom then listen to the hockey play. Yeah, right. This would be great pregame material.
Joe Beninati the play-by-play guy. Hey Joe, stick to the play-by-play, leave the analyst and the chit chat to between the whistles.
Hatcher is the only Flyers defenseman with a goal. If the Flyers want to win the next 3 the defense have to score a few.
NBC finally gets around at showing some playoff hockey. Personally I am hoping for extended overtime for the Detroit/Dallas game. Even though the Preakness doesn’t run until 6:15pm, NBC will cut away from the game to the Preakness no later than 5pm, pissing off hockey fans once again. Not a surprise to me, NBC rather show 5 hours of golf instead of game 2 of the conference finals. Five hours of golf with no Tiger Woods, nice.
Put Cindy’s and Briere’s playoff beards together and it doesn’t come close to Ryan Parents. Even if Coburn can see for the next game play Parent and sit maybe Modry. Parent’s playoff beard deserves to be there.

‘Turnover-prone Steve Downie’. Oh please I am tired about reading all the crap written about him. Dude has 2 turnovers in 2 games that eventually led goals. On each of them 3 different Flyers had a chance to clear the zone. I seem to remember Briere giving up the puck 3 times while on the PP in the Montreal series. Does that make him turnover-prone too?
