Briere to rehab with Phantoms

PHILADELPHIA - There's no point bringing back Daniel Briere and his $6.5-million salary onto the Flyers' roster until they are certain he's ready to play. So Briere has accepted a two-game assignment with the Phantoms to see if his injured groin can stand up to the rigors of game action.
