PENGUINS 4, FLYERS 2: Figuring it worked against Alex Ovechkin and the Washington Capitals, Flyers coach John Stevens tried reuniting the defense pairing of Kimmo Timonen and Braydon Coburn against Pittsburgh’s dynamic duo of Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Mlkin. Good theory, bad result. Crosby created enough room to set up second-period goals by Malkin and linemate Matt Cooke, sending the Pens to an easy victory and the Flyers to their first regulation loss at home since Nov. 8.
