Looking past the All-Star break

The Flyers know what it’s like to see pre-All-Star break momentum come to a screeching halt. Shortly after returning from last year’s break the Flyers lost a franchise record 10 straight games and spent the rest of the season scrambling to earn a playoff berth. When they return from this year’s five-day break Tuesday night against the Florida Panthers, they’ll do so without center Danny Briere, but with a clear shot at an Atlantic Division title. The Flyers open the unofficial start of their second half with three road games against inferior opponents -- the Panthers, Lightning and Blues – before consecutive games against the conference-leading Bruins Feb.
