Caps Considering New Logo

In January of 1980, when Ronald Regan took office and began to build the largest "peacetime" army in the history of the country, a group of collegiate and amateur hockey players were rounding out a long stretch of international hockey in preparation for the 1980 Winter Olympics. Little did they know their actions in the month to come would irrevocably tie Russians and hockey together in the mindset of the common American. Timonen Out

Flyers coach John Stevens told me this morning here in Washington not to expect Kimmo Timonen in the lineup tonight against the Caps because he is ill. It was an optional morning skate where few players were on the ice. Timonen did not mae the trip, suffering from the flu which continues to plague the Flyers.
