No one has ever really thought to accuse Philadelphia Flyers captain Mike Richards of not being able to play through pain. And chances are the idea will never come after the Flyers enlightened the press and fanbase to the fact that Richards played basically the entire 2008-09 season with torn labrums in both shoulders. Pretty remarkable

I've never really been sure what the point of the World Championships is. Actually, if the point is to get a couple NHLers from teams that didn't make the playoffs and guys who aren't good enough to play in the NHL to represent each country, then I understand the point completely.
