Draft day! I like the "who knows what the hell is going to happen" feel of this day, and I will be disappointed if it goes down like the trade deadline did, with nothing particularly momentous happening. Of the North American players ranked 11-30, thee 5 are going to be the stars: Carter Ashton of the Lethbridge Hurricanes Nazim Kadri of the London Knights Kyle Palmieri of the US National Team Ryan Button or the Prince Albert Raiders Cody Eakin of the Swift Current Broncos Post First Round Sleeper - Justin Dowling, the tiny center from Swift Current of the WHL.

Fedorov heading back to play in Russia

Nineteen years after defecting from the Soviet Union, Sergei Fedorov is leaving the NHL to play in his homeland. The 1994 league MVP and three-time Stanley Cup winner with the Detroit Red Wings has signed a 2-year contract with Russian club Metallurg Magnitogorsk of the Kontinental Hockey League.
