Ad Phans Getting Stacked

With the signing of Jason Ward over the weekend we've even further increased the number of has-been's, never-were's, or hopefully-can-be's that we've acquired so far this off-season. I knew Ward's name sounded familiar (in a bad way) and when I went over to the internet hockey database my suspicions were confirmed - yes, he is the former Ranger Jason Ward. For some reason I just don't like bringing in guys from the Atlantic Division. Just doesn't sit well with me

Flyers release preseason schedule

The Philadelphia Flyers announced their 2009 preseason schedule today, which features three games at the Wachovia Center and one contest at the John Labatt Centre in London, Ontario. The seven-game preseason slate opens with the Flyers taking on the defending Western Conference Champion Red Wings at Detroit on Wednesday, September 16 at 7:30 p.m. For the sixth consecutive season, the Flyers will travel to London, Ontario to play at the John Labatt Centre against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday, September 17.

Schedule Highlights – From a Drunk

I know this is old hat, and not really news worthy at all, but the Flyers schedule was released last week and to no one's surprise there were no surprises. The Winter Classic should be great, but otherwise they play teams in their division the most, teams not in their division but in their conference the second most, and teams from the West rarely
