That's Mrs. Herneisen To You

The entire staff is en route to an ECHL wedding weekend in the Bahamas, so we're not going to be able to provide you with any sexually-charged, usually inaccurate Flyers news over the weekend. I know how panic attacks go and I didn't want any of you to freak out when you went to the last resort in your recent history and realized that it hadn’t been updated. So as you hear news on Hurricane Bill approaching the Carolina's, and are thinking how great it would be if it destroyed them so that the Flyers got to win their first game of the season by forfeit, just know that we're down there trying to be all inclusive at a resort.

Be Charitable

Dear Gentle Readers,Yep, long time, no write. Sorry about that, but my life has a way of getting really crazy over summers. My activities lately have centered around a crap-load of bad news, including a co-worker's death at the end of June, and my great aunt's death last week. You have no idea how ready I am for hockey season to really get here.

Vacation and What to Look For

Knuble Does Not Get Camping Badge

I'd be the 15th one to admit that for too long USA Hockey has put too old of a team on the ice. Of the forwards for the 2006 Olympic team that went to Torino not a single one was born after 1979. Granted that was 4 years ago and '79 was only 27 back then, but the forwards also consisted of Doug Weight, Keith Tkachuk, Brian Rolston, and Bill Guerin

VERSUS & Flyers

The Flyers will be making 8 appearances on VERSUS this coming season and 5 appearances on NBC - including the Winter Classic. Of course, they could get bumped on NBC for other games. What I found interesting was that there are some better Flyers' games to choose from later in the season and VERSUS chose to telecast the same, old Eastern Conference stuff. One interesting note.
