The only way to get news about the 2010 Bridgestone/NHL Winter Classic ® before it breaks is to visit NHL.com, where, beginning today, fans can sign up for important alerts – including ticket information for the open-air battle between long-time rivals the Boston Bruins ® and Philadelphia Flyers ® that faces off at 1 p.m.

More Blue Jackets Cast Offs

There are reports circulating that the Flyers may offer former Columbus Blue Jacket, Jiri Novotny , a contract to play as possibly their third/fourth line center. At 6'4" and 209lbs, he's an imposing figure and can throw his weight around. He's limited offensively with only 20 goals and 31 assists in his 5 professional years in the NHL. He's also picked up 66 PIMs in that time period as well.
