Expectations

Sometimes, expectations suck.After basementing and rebounding, I expected last season's post-season to be better. Yeah, it was crappy to pull the Pens in the first round. Steve Downie Big News in F-L-A

Clay Aiken has an interesting story  over at Sports Illustrated dot com about Steve Downie starting the pre-season on the Lightning's top line with Vincent LeCavalier and Alex Tanguay, and how he actually might start the season with them. Flyers trim roster to 29 players

The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they have trimmed their training camp roster by 29 players, assigning 19 players to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Adirondack Phantoms, returning eight players to their junior team, and releasing two players invited on a try-out basis, according to club General Manager Paul Holmgren. Among the 19 players assigned to the Phantoms are forwards: Josh Beaulieu, Rob Bellamy, Matt Clackson, Ryan Dingle, Jonathon Kalinski, Garrett Klotz, Jonathan Matsumoto, Andreas Nodl and Tomas Sinisalo; defensemen: Oskars Bartulis, Marc-Andre Bourdon, Joonas Lehtivuori, Kevin Marshall, Mike Ratchuk, David Sloane and Logan Stephenson; and goaltenders: Jeremy Duchesne, Nic Riopel and Michael Teslak. The eight players returned to their respective junior teams are forwards: David Labrecque (Shawinigan, QMJHL), Zac Rinaldo (London, OHL), Mike Thomas (Saint John, QMJHL) and Eric Wellwood (Windsor, OHL); defensemen Tyler Hostetter (Erie, OHL) and Brennan Yadlowski (Lethbridge, WHL); and goaltenders Adam Morrison (Saskatoon, WHL) and Jacob DeSerres (Seattle, WHL).
