Load up on the Bagel Bites. It's opening night! Well, not yet. But you will be able to say that on Friday morning as the Flyers kick off their 42/3rd season of competition in the National Hockey League. But before you get too excited only to be let down by a 6-1 loss (that's the Philadelphia fan in all of us, he's in me right now) let's take a look at some opening nights in recent history that left us feeling like we just woke up after spending $1,800 at the strip club

Flyers fine-tune lineup for season opener

For the Flyers, there were a few revelations yesterday as the team prepared for tonight's final preseason game: Danny Briere, moved to right wing and looking like his old speedy self, will start the season on what looks like the team's most explosive line, along with Jeff Carter and Scott Hartnell. That line will also play on the power play, "so it just sets up better for game rotations," coach John Stevens said after yesterday's practice in Voorhees.
