Hartnell Not a Big Deal

Remember when everyone used to talk about Scott Hartnell? Yeah, that was just a couple months ago. And now amidst questions among our bottom 6 forwards, the addition of Chris Pronger and Ray Emery, wondering whether Claude Giroux or Danny Briere will be moved to wing, or both, taking a guess at whether or not Jeff Carter can reproduce or even improve upon last season's stats, feeling out Simon Gagne's groin injuries, monitoring the progress of Matt Carle, asking Mike Richards what it means to add such a veteran presence to the team, predicting that Randy Jones is going to be placed on waivers and Ole-Kristian Tollefsen is going to be our 6th defenseman, and speculating on whether or not Kimmo's going to lose his "A" we seem to have totally forgotten about our fourth leading scorer from last year. What did Hartnell do to deserve this lack of attention?

Adios Randy

Seems like all signs are pointing towards Randy Jones being waived sometime today or tomorrow. The only thing I'll really miss about Randy Jones is the fact that an entire fan base hates this guy for what he did to 'Lucky Pierre' Bergeron. Truth is he's not a bad defenseman  and his career is no where near over. He can be a very productive #5-6 d-man somewhere, and even a 3-4 in other locations (see:NYR). With the SS Randy leaving port this evening, that opens up the roster to both JVRabbit and Mike Pyorala to make the team right out of camp. Maybe we can use Riley Cote as our 7th defenseman?
