Emery Stellar, Flyers Spook Canes 6-1
PHILADELPHIA- With ‘Yankees Suck’ chants ringing through the packed Wachovia Center, the Philadelphia Flyers put a beating on the Carolina Hurricanes offensively. The Flyers took part one of this action packed Philadelphia sports weekend beating the Canes 6-1. The Flyers came out on this Halloween afternoon special netting three goals in the first period and never looked back. Defensemen Braydon Coburn scored his first two-goal game of his five career. Both Scott Hartnell and Matt Carle each had excellent games with a goal and two assists. Rookie James van Riemsdyk pitched in with a goal and an assist also. “Actually, I was hoping I’d get a chance for another one,” Coburn joked after the game.
