Semin, Theodore lift Capitals over Flyers 4-2 (AP)

Alexander Semin returned from a two-game absence with a tiebreaking goal and an assist, Jose Theodore stopped Darroll Powe's penalty shot later in the third period, and the Washington Capitals beat the Philadelphia Flyers 4-2 Tuesday night. Alex Ovechkin scored two goals -- including an empty-netter in the final minute -- and Nicklas Backstrom had four points for the Capitals.

D: On premature retirement…good hit/bad hit? P: As I’m sitting here waiting to come on with you guys, I’m thinking: what do you talk about? Primeau thinks Richards deserved suspension

Today on Leafs Lunch with Darren Dreger & Bill Watters, former Flyers captain Keith Primeau was a guest on AM 640 to talk about headshots and the Mike Richards hit on David Booth Saturday night. Among the comments Primeau made were: “There is not a place in the game for those kind of hits.” -- “Those hits are a punishable act.” -- “If were going to make a change…there has to be a line drawn in the sand.” -- “The head has to be off limits.” -- “I’m a real live human being and I still have a life and it impacts the players life when he’s gone.”

Gagne has “two small hernias”

According to Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren, Flyers left wing Simon Gagne was examined Tuesday by Dr. Allen Schurict from Pennsylvania Hospital . An ultra sound procedure on Monday showed two small hernias in Gagne's right groin area. "Our medical staff will meet with Simon (Wednesday) afternoon to discuss all options," Holmgren said.
