Another game? Sheesh.

This dude is hungry for more. I mean, uh, relentless. It's almost like it's hockey season or something. Now that the Flyers seem to be on some sort of a regular schedule, I guess I'll have to pay more attention. After Sunday's lackluster performance, let's hope these guys can bounce back with a win, or at least a non crappy performance.

Flyers to Washington Tonight

Cote will be replacing Gagne in the line-up tonight as Gags is getting more tests done today. Anthony Sanfilippo from the Delco Times reports that because of this change that the lines were “juggled” again. Carter is still skating with Briere and JVR, but Richards saw time with Pyorala and Hartnell while the third

Flyers play Caps tonight….maybe

The Flyers are scheduled to play the Washington Capitals tonight, whether they decide to actually show up or not is another question. Sunday nights game vs San Jose was one of the worst games I have ever been to, absolutley zero effort from the orange and black all night. But its hard to get upset about that, we've gotten used to the up and down efforts from the team under the "coaching" of John Stevens, and as long as he's behind the bench, it will never change, and they wont win the cup, let alone get through the East, there, I said it, get mad if you want, but you know its true. In other news...there are rumors running rampant throughout the web about the severity of Gagne's injury. Ranging from a groin strain, to an abdominal strain, to a hernia, which could require surgery, which could potentially be season ending. The only thing for certain, is that he is out of the lineup tonight. Brendan freakin' Shannahan!? are you kidding!

Flyers Gameday: I already don't want to hear that stupid air-horn

Tonight the Flyers travel to DC to take on the Washington Capitals.  The Flyers, fresh off a turd-filled game against the Sharks will look to rebound against the offensively charged defensively retarded Capitals.  Ever since that crazy game on October 6th which the Flyers took 6-5, I've been waiting for the second game of this series.  I don't expect tonights game to match that one in terms of offense, but I do imagine that the level of excitement will be just as high.  The Caps are riding a 4 game win streak and will turn to Jose Theodore to man the pipes tonight.  Jose is about as bipolar as you can get, and if he's on, it'll be tough to score against.  He can also get lit up very easily and chucking a lot of pucks at him tonight will be a good idea.  OV has been pretty quite that past few games and that doesn't bode well against the Orange&Black.  He always brings his game against the Flyers, and I don't see how Boudreau won't capitalize on the line changes to get OV on the ice against everybody's favorite whipping boy, Braydon Coburn.  Aside from OV, the Flyers need to keep the Caps off the PP.  That is the only time I'm worried about our chances tonight, as the Caps can light the lamp against anybody, especially up a man.  This is a game where I wish I could sing the praises of Blair Betts in the post game report, but somebody will have to step up on the PK....here's hoping for a dominant Lappy performance. For the Flyers, Gagne is hurt, and we're still without Betts & Parent.  The biggest change I could see tonight is that Kimmo and Coburn can broken up.  This might be the last chance for that duo to prove they can be an effective #2 unit.  I'd like to get Richie back in the scoring column and continue to watch JVR perform like the rookie of the year.  The Caps defense has more gaping holes than Jenna Jameson so the scoring chances should be there all 60 minutes.  It'll also be interesting to see what kinda line combinations Papa Stevens rolls out tonight.  That said, he'll look to get balanced scoring out there and some grit in every shift. Anytime we get to place the Caps twice in a month, its a good thing.  Clearly one of our biggest rivals, the games the past three years have all been memorable.  The Flyers get up for these games and love to match the intensity.  These games remind me of a heavyweight fight.  Here's hoping Richards does his best Bernard Hopkins impersonation.  Crush the Craps.  Let's Go Flyers.

The Local Boys: Ricard Young

While you all have the Caps and the Phils on your mind this morning I do not. I have kids on the mind. Specifically young boys. Just like Tyler Hostetter did this past summer, and FGSB Friend Matt Herneisen over 10 years before, even though hockey in the Philadelphia has grown leaps and bounds, if you're a real, true NHL prospect they're going to send you away at some point. You might get a year playing with the Junior Flyers and tearing it up as a freshman at Malvern, but eventually you'll be off to the Midwest, the Northeast, or Canada

Flyers Gameday: 10-27-09

PREVIEW My Flyers preview and Steve Hindle's Caps preview are available at Versus.com. Excerpt follows: Everything was looking up for the Philadelphia Flyers when they defeated the Washington Capitals in an overtime thriller in the third game of the regular season. Despite some defensive sloppiness in the second period and a steady parade to the penalty box, the Flyers put together a strong
