Are Flyers Interested in Shanahan??
With the Flyers waiting word today on whether Simon Gagne will miss significant time with two small hernias, there is a distinct possiblity they will increase their efforts to sign future Hall of Fame left wing Brendan Shanahan to a one-year contract. He reported for training camp but abruptly left camp, saying he did not believe it was a suitable fit for him. The Flyers could use a physical presence along the boards and in front of the net after the departure of Mike Knuble. And although Shanahan is way past his prime at 40 years old, he might provide more offense during Gagne's recovery than anyone currently with the Phantoms
