Pronger struggles in 4-2 loss to Panthers

PANTHERS 4, FLYERS 2: Ironically, the defenseman who was expected to be a calming influence on the blue line – Chris Pronger -- has been surprisingly shaky in the early part of the season. Arron Asham provided the Flyers with a 1-0 lead, but an undisciplined and unprovoked slashing penalty to Pronger led to Stephen Weiss’ power-play to tie the score. The killer goal came 7:02 into the third when the Flyers were on the power play. Pronger failed to control a bouncing puck at the blue line and Radek Dvorak raced down the ice to score a shorthanded breakaway goal for the go-ahead and eventual game-winning goal.
