Two games before the break
There are four points on the table and it is actually even more when you think of this as a larger swing because we are playing a conference rival. The Habs have one more point than we do and have played three more games. So if we are able to take all four points we would surge past them in the standings by three points and we would still have the three games in hand. Wins in this back to back series would have us sitting in sixth place and have games in hand when we return to action in a couple of weeks. The potential loss of Emery for the season is very critical to our success coming down the final few weeks of the season. Leighton has played well but I am not certain he can carry this team through the playoffs.

Flyers Pre-Game Intro Videoduction
I had a slightly different take on the Flyers new intro than Fran, and only saw his after I wrote this. I'm to lazy to rewrite something and to stubborn (and crunched for time to get to Vancouver) to not post it. This is what happens when you work in an office as big as ours. Speaking of, we're accepting applications for people who'd like to give us free money. Please fill out the form under the contact us tab. In case you missed it the Flyers are pimping their 2nd half pre-game video on Flyers TV. Check it out:  Yeah it's pretty good, but give anyone who's interested in the FlyGuys full access to all their highlights, let them choose an iMovie theme and their favorite bad ass pump up song, and you're pretty much going to get the same thing every time. For example, flyersfella28 (Claude Giroux): Change the song to 'Chasing Cars' and cut everything a little sexier and you have yourself a nice little pregame pump off video

FLyers: Shutting Down Razor
Stop me if you fear this is Groundhog Day. Ray Emery is on the shelf. Again. Gonna be at least 3 weeks. Flyers' GM Paul Holmgren said the club is going to use the Olympic break to shut Emery down on the ice and see if it helps his ailing left hip. From the very start of this hip stuff, the thing that worries me most, is that Emery will need off-season surgery, try to come back, ruin

Flyers Shut Down Emery Through Olympics
Paul Holmgren on Ray Emery: Thursday, February 11, 2010 “Based on what doctors have told us, we are just going to shut Ray down here for about three weeks and give him some time to rehabilitate the hip and then we will go from there.†Q: Is surgery a possibility after three weeks? PH: “We really haven’t gotten to that point yet. Right now we are just going to shut him down and do the rehabilitation route and see how it goes.†Q: Would he be resting initially for a period or can he do cardio stuff? PH: “Resting in terms of not going on the ice. Cardio, he obviously can continue to do all of that and through rehabilitation try to strengthen that area.†Q: Did the MRI show that he has a tear? PH: “There are some issues there. We are hopeful that through this period he will be fine and we will be able to march ahead.†Q: What exactly did the MRI show?
