The curse of Potulny lives on!

Did you know that when former Flyers forward Ryan Potulny scored the game-winning goal with 17 seconds remaining in the Edmonton Oilers’ 1-0 win over the Flyers on Wednesday night he was sticking a knife in the heart of Michael Leighton for the second time? Leighton, who was in goal for the Flyers in Edmonton, was Albany’s goaltender in the legendary five-overtime Game 5 of the 2008 Calder Cup division semifinals against the Phantoms. The Phantoms recorded 101 shots in that game, the final one coming off the stick of Potulny, who beat Leighton with the game winner early in the fifth overtime.
