Richards’ message delivered as leaders look to write the ship

Photo:

LIFE The Flyers have had two consistent issues with the their club this season, according to the media. 1. The inconsistency of this Flyers team. A team that was picked hands down by many to be the 2009-10 Stanley Cup champions. 2. The leadership of this team. Who’s the real leader of that locker room? Is captain Mike Richards doing his job as the captain?

Flyers May Have Gotten Their Finn After All

Photo:

Just like Red Wings General Manager Ken Holland did over the summer of 2008, over the summer of 2009 Paul Holmgren was looking for a Finn. A real one. Not one of those imitation ones you can buy in your local super market, but one fresh from the igloo-ladened streets of Finland. So Homer talked to his European scouts and they found a responsible two-way 27 year old that had interest in coming over and playing in the NHL. Why not, right? If he could prove his worth over here he could make double what he was making in the Finnish Elite League, and live out what might have been a life long dream. And that's how it came to pass that in September of 2009 September Mika Pyorala came over to the U.S. and made the Flyers roster out of training camp - securing spots for Arron Asham and Riley Cote in the press box

Blind Faith Fails

I'm surprised to see you here. What with the Flyers sucking and all. I thought you might possibly muster up enough strength to watch tonight's game, but reading about the Flyers on the internet…haven't you had enough of that? Maybe it's safer to come here because you don't have to read any 'more effort' or 'heart' quotes from the guys we're supposed to be rooting for. You get to read stuff like this: If you don't want to watch them anymore then don't. Fuck them. It doesn't mean you're any less of a fan.

Flyers Gameday: Meh…..

I don't even know what to say anymore.  The Flyers take on the Devils in two hours.  NJ is a beast and the Flyers forget how to score more than two goals per game.  They have zero confidence in themselves and in their goaltender, Brian Boucher.  I hope somebody checked Boosh's locker for any Razor, Leighton and Backlund voodoo dolls.  I can't get over thinking that this is so some or cosmic karma coming back to bite us in the butt.  Is it for being too sexy?  Too many crab fries?  I just don't get it.  Backlund in net, the team looked good...still down only 1 goal, they were in the game.  Insert Boucher and the wheels aren't even on the wagon for them to fall off.  One bright spot about today is that we've actually beaten NJ four out of five times this year.  ....
