NHL Commercials: Not Impressed

I’m not just saying this to be stubborn or the proud owner of a dissenting opinion, but I really don’t think the NHL’s new post season commercials are very good. As a matter of fact I think they wreak terribly of something that was thrown together at the last minute by some intern who spoke out of turn and said ‘why don’t we just rewind some of the coolest clips in hockey history?’ Not the kind of campaign Don Draper would approve of. At the heart of the problem is the fact that the campaign’s purpose isn’t clear. Is it to remind people who are already hockey fans that the playoffs are coming up? Because believe me…we know all about. If not that it must be to peak the interest of the casual or non hockey fan. In which case I would argue that you should just show them those old, incredible highlights and moments on their own. No cool technology like ‘rewind.’.
