Occasionally here at the blog we get email. Like a santa sack stuffed full of electronic letters. We obviously can't answer them all because there's only 2 of us and a robot, but from time to time we'd like to offer our opinions on a variety of matters that have you concerned. So here, on a Friday morning in the playoffs, is a little light reading: 1. If you're the GM, which goalies out there do you target in the offseason? Becky O'shea, Hotmail The question of the day, week, year right there. Don't you usually want to hold onto a Stanley Cup winning goaltender? Ha to the ha.

Flyers Playoff Gameday: Game 2 vs. Devils

MINI-PREVIEW (9 AM) The Flyers will look to build a 2-0 series advantage tonight when the puck drops on Game 2 of their Eastern Conference Quarterfinals matchup with the New Jersey Devils. The Flyers will likely need to generate more than 14 shots on goal tonight if they are to return home with a two-game lead in the series. It would be be helpful not to give up five powerplay opportunities to

Well Wishes from The Gang

Not sure how I missed this one. But here's making sure you don't: The Eagles and Phils have been featured in previous seasons of It's Always Sunny and it's nice to nowsee The Gang paying some attention to the Orange and Black. Does anyone know what exactly they were shooting at the Wach before the Montreal game on April 3rd? No matter what it was it's just exciting to know they'll incorporate some Flyers in an actual episode soon. You know, besides this .

Parent expected to return for Game 2

Flyers coach Peter Laviolette raised some eyebrows when he penciled rookie defenseman Oskars Bartulis into his lineup for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals Wednesday night. After watching Bartulis take a four-minute high sticking penalty on David Clarkson in 11:27 of work, it appears Laviolette will replace him with third-year defenseman Ryan Parent when the series resumes Friday night. “It looks like I’m in,” Parent said after Thursday’s practice at the Prudential Center. “I just want to go in and have a good game. I know what I’ve got to do. I need to move pucks better, move my feet a little more and be physical.” Parent, 23, played in 20 of the Flyers’ final 22 games this season after having a herniated disk removed from his back in January. Bartulis had been a healthy scratch in the final five games of the regular season

Getty Images Even Brian Boucher couldn’t have realistically imagined out performing Martin Brodeur in game one of their series. Well, realistically and literally, he did. Boucher put up a 23 save performance last night in the Flyers 2-1 defeat over the New Jersey Devils in game one of their quarterfinal series at the Prudential Center. Boucher halted hall of fame goaltender Brodeur and stifled Russian sniper Ilya Kovalchuk on numerous occasions. “He made some unbelievable stops in the first period,” said Chris Pronger. “We didn’t come out the way we wanted to. Some big stops from him, a couple point-blankers that he sucked in and didn’t allow any rebounds, which was key.” Boucher had help from the Flyers penalty kill units

We'll Take That Home Ice

What can be said that probably hasn't been said about last night? Watching Boosh stand tall was well worth the frustrating past few weeks. Basically, the Devils are the dream draw for the Flyers. 14 shots... just 14!... was all it took to beat Brodeur. You might say that's an oddity, but that's how it's been all year. Brodeur just doesn't play well against the Flyers.
