Well, give the Flyers credit for putting Jeff Carter on double secret probation. Carter just warmed up for the Flyers and will be in the lineup for today's Game 4, presumably replacing Dan Carcillo on the Flyers' top line with Mike Richards and Simon Gagne.

And after the third game he rose again, in fullfilment of the scriptures. In my various travels over the past three weeks I've seen a lot of the world but never once lost track of the Flyers. In Macondo when a passerby told us the Flyers won game 6 in the Boston series we celebrated with bag pipes and sacrificed a pig in honor of the 3-3 tie. In Port Happiness it was easier when a local came running into town proclaiming the Flyers won the series 4 to 3 - we just drank champagne from breakfast to siesta and then well into the next morning. It was a matter of fact when we found a message in a bottle while at sea and discovered that the Flyers had mercilessly clawed the hearts from the Canadiens with a 6-0 win in the opening game of the Eastern Conference Finals, but when they came through with another shutout in game 2 we ate all the calaloo on board as well as drank all the Appleton Rum.  EVERYTHNG went bad last night... (Courtesy: YardBarker) Some days, we show up to work, and things do not go right. Sometimes we see it happening and do nothing. Other times, we’re totally unaware of our own mistakes Last night, the Flyers came out flat, for the second straight game. This time, Montreal made them pay.

Breaking news: Carter out, Laperriere in?
Judging from the line combinations at practice right now, Jeff Carter will sit out tomorrow night's Game 4 and Ian Laperriere will play. As I type, Carter is centering a line with wingers Andreas Nodl and Riley Cote, while Laperriere is playing right wing on a line with Blair Betts and Darroll Powe. That means Carter, Nodl and Cote are likely to be scratches tomorrow night. I'm also told Carter brought just two sticks with him to Montreal and did not plan on playing in either Game 3 or 4. He is targeting his return on Monday night in Game 5 in Philadelphia. The Flyers line combos today look like this: GAGNE RICHARDS CARCILLO HARTNELL BRIERE LEINO VAN RIEMSDYK GIROUX ASHAM POWE BETTS LAPERRIERE Defense pairs remained the same with Pronger and Carle; Timonen and Coburn; and Parent and Krajicek
