2010-2010 Season The painful 2010 playoffs are getting farther and farther away. Time heals many wounds, and there’s no better way than to start things fresh. With that, a new season is approaching, and is only 3 1/2 months away. The schedule came out today, so let’s go over some quick highlights: Season Opener: 10/7/10 – In Pittsburgh , where we get a chance to spoil the party as Malkin and the rest of the flightless birds open their new building. Home Opener: 10/11/10 – Colorado comes to town to witness the raising of the Eastern Conference Champions banner, among other festivities. 10/21/10 – The  Anaheim Ducks come to Broad Street, in a match-up of the two teams that head lead the league in fighting majors for the past two seasons. 1/23/11 – The Flyers head to Chicago for the only regular season meeting with the defending champion Blackhawks .
