Flyers announce 2010-11 schedule

The defending Eastern Conference Champion Philadelphia Flyers announced today that they will open their 44th season in the National Hockey League at Pittsburgh when they face off against their Atlantic Division and intra-state rival Penguins on Thursday, October 7. The Flyers will also make their 2010-11 regular season debut at the Wachovia Center against the Colorado Avalanche on Monday, October 11. The 82-game regular season will conclude at home for the Flyers on Saturday, April 9 when they face off against the New York Islanders. “We’re anxious to get the season started,” said Comcast-Spectacor President Peter Luukko. “We had an incredible post-season run and we want to capitalize on that momentum next season.
