Dan Hamhuis The Philadelphia Flyers knew they needed defensive help. Well, they didn’t waste anytime suring that problem up. The Flyers have acquired the rights of the Nashville Predators’ top player, Dan Hamhuis. On Saturday afternoon, the club announced that they have sent defensemen Ryan Parent in exchange for Hamhuis and a conditional pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. “Our intention is to get him signed prior to [July 1], and that is what our aim is at this point in time,” said Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren. “The sooner that we get going on trying to get this done, the better.” Hamhuis is an instant upgrade to an already exceptional blue line.
