Late Round Draft Hopefuls

Research, film study, interviews, scouting reports; a lot goes into preparing for the NHL  Entry Draft. And no matter what, you have busts ( Pat Falloon – 2nd overall 1991, Alexander Daigle – 1st overall 1993) and you have late round gems ( Pavel Datsyuk - 171st overall 1998). This year, because of various trades, the Flyers don’t have any picks until the third round. With that pick, they took Michael Chaput , a center from the Lewiston Maineiacs of he QMJHL. With a team so deep a center, it could be a while until he cracks the big club. Maybe they’ll shift him over to wing, like they do with a lot of players. I’ve never heard of this guy, so I can’t tell you anything about him
