Enjoy it Chi-town...ugh (Courtesy: YardBarker) How fitting is it that a 21 year old with a mullet scores the game winning goal in overtime to clinch the Stanley Cup ? A guy who the Flyers could have had, when we were the worst team in hockey and ended up with the 2nd pick in the draft rather than the 1st. Anyway, congratulations to the Chicago Blackhawks on becoming the 2009-2010 Stanley Cup Champions. Congrats to the city of Chicago , for having their 49 year drought end. And of course, congrats to Jeff Bartl from BlackhawkUp for winning a few cheesesteaks . So another summer begins with the Flyers not holding the trophy. If your reading this, you already know that they were eliminated in Game 6 last night, on a goal by Patrick Kane in overtime

Laviolette Stands Tall in Defeat
(Philadelphia, PA) - This wasn't the ending that Philadelphia Flyers coach Peter Laviolette was hoping for. In fact, it was an ending he wasn't even sure about after Patrick Kane beat Flyers goalie Michael Leighton with a bad-angled shot at 4:06 o...

Hard To Accept It's Over
There is nothing worse than being on the losing end of a championship game. The finality of it never really sinks in. You listen to what the players are saying but you sense they really don't think it's over, either. Which is how I felt hearing the words from Danny Briere after Wednesday's torturous 4-3 overtime loss to Chicago which gave the Stanley Cup to the Blackhawks in 6 games. He s

Shock
I am still in shock at the ending. I will post more later today or tomorrow. After the goal to tie it up in the third I felt like this was heading back to Chicago.

A Taste, A Sniff, A Dream

Congrats to the Chicago Blackhawks on winning the 2010 Stanley Cup Finals. What can I say about the Flyers... our Flyers? They fought, they battled back against steep odds, they gave everything they had and then some... But I think the tank was empty. Last night's loss does not diminish them in our eyes. I will always look back fondly on these few weeks that brought us a glimpse of glory. The offseason will bring lots of questions and hopefully some answers.

It’s Over

A strange turn of events ended the game with a weird goal on Michael Leighton by Patrick Kane. Flyers lose the Stanley Cup in overtime 4-3 and the series 4-2. Great season, more on the season soon. And then time to move towards getting ready for trades, free agency, and drafts. Still love this team.
