You may or may not know this, but we used to be privy to the secret diary of Sami Kapanen.  So what, you say?  Well, beyond the fact that it will be relevant below, it's our  bona fide for why we know all the things you wish you knew.  The only reason we dole it out so judiciously is that we have to protect our sources.

Inside Flyers’ 3-2 win in Pittsburgh

Flyers captain Mike Richards set the tone when he dropped the gloves with Penguins irritant Matt Cooke just 6 seconds into the game. Richards later set up the first of Claude Giroux’s two goals as the Flyers won back-to-back games for the first time this season. They also grabbed a share of the Atlantic Division lead with the Penguins, who lost their third straight.

Flyers Gameday: You Again?

In a strange scheduling quirk, tonight your Flyers enter Pittsburgh to take on the Pens.  This is already the third meeting of the season and a win tonight puts us in a first place tie with those pesky Pens.  The last time these two met, the Pens walked all over the Flyers at home, earning a 5-1 victory where Sid put up two goals. Both teams are still looking to find their way early on this season as inconsistent play has plagued both clubs.  Nothing is better for a teams confidence than beating a rival and thankfully for us, the hockey Gods have bestowed this Friday night upon us. The Penguins have been struggling due to inconsistent scoring and some troubling play in net by Marc Andre Fluery.  They certainly have the firepower to stay in games, but the energy level hasn't always been there night to night.  Sound familiar Flyers fans?  The Pens, much like the Flyers, have been doing their own version of Jekyll and Hyde.  Coming off 4 straight wins, the Pens dropped two in a row, with the last one coming at the hands of the Lightning.  Look for Brent Johnson in net tonight, a very technically sound goalie.  We all know the trouble the Flyers seem to have with backup goalies, so pressure early on in BJ's crease will help tilt the ice.  Brooks Orpik is also back on the Pens blue line…and for a guy whose eyeballs are that close together, he somehow can maintain his balance.  Ex-Flyer Aaron Asham will be playing, his first against his old club.  I expect Smasham to be buzzing all night, and some forechecking on his part should get all the Yinzers in a tizzy….that is until the Flyers take the lead and they leave with 5:00 to go in the third. The Flyers had an interesting week.  Laying an egg in Columbus and then dismantling our country's best goaltender. Which team made it to Pittsburgh, I'm not sure, however after Mike Richards comments after the last game I'm pretty sure this will be a barn burner.  Engelland, Godard Rupp and Asham all gooning it up might make way for some slobberknockers.  Bob proved he won't be rattled by the Consol  Center, or Mario Lemieux dressed up like Snooki for Halloween.  Tonight we get to see if Jeff Carter's 3-point night on Tuesday was the start of something, or merely an apparition.  Claude Giroux and Danny Breeze continue to lead the offensive charge, and I expect both to factor into tonights scoresheet yet again.  Our defense still doesn't have a goal on the year, something a Chris Pronger clapper from Hell® will end
