Flyers Gameday: Ash Can and the Sabres

It should have been a walk in the park.  For the Eastern Conference Champs, playing a game against the Columbus Blue Jackets should have been easy.  But nothing seems to be easy for the Flyers in recent Octobers. If this season is going to be a hurricane, we may have just received our first glimpses of the storm in the Atlantic. Luckily they get to right the ship tonight as they play host against the Buffalo Sabres.  For the Flyers, the gameplan should be pretty clear.  Go out there and break a sweat.  Win a puck battle.  Forecheck below the goalie.  Do not rely on somebody else stepping up. Hopefully some hometown cookin' and the O&B crazies will get these guys pumped. Something has to click….right?  They don't have Cup hangover….do they?  It's only October after all.  There were probably still just sad from the Jayson Werth press conference like the rest of us….right?  I wouldn't be surprised to see Nodl in the game tonight.

Frankly, I have no idea what to expect from this game coming in. It all depends on which Flyers and/or Sabres teams decide to show up

Finally, things are starting to look up. The defense was tighter, we scored a few goals, and most importantly, Mike Richards has started to look like our leader. The 5 game home stand wasn’t great, but things are looking up a bit. Talk about closing the door! (courtesy: lyricsdigger.info) Going into the third period, Toronto was still in the game
