I lost count how many times Ray Ferraro from TSN talked about how the Flyers needed to “shake off the rust”, “wake up” or “get their legs moving”.  Everyone expected them to be a little rusty in the first period after being off the ice for seven days.  It didn’t stop at the first period however it continued for the entire game. The Vancouver Canucks were not going to wait for the Flyers to “shake off the rust”. They would take full advantage of the Flyers lack of intensity and lethargic game play

Timonen injured in Flyers’ loss to Canucks

The worst news to come out of the Flyers’ 6-2 loss in Vancouver was that D Kimmo Timonen suffered what GM Paul Holmgren termed a “lower body injury” in the third period. Timonen took just three shifts in the final period and was scheduled to be re-evaluated on Wednesday. He played in all 82 games last season and all 36 games this season and was leading all Flyers in average ice time (22:21) prior to his injury. If Timonen is sidelined, look for recently re-acquired Danny Syvret to be recalled from the AHL Phantoms.
