Pronger to miss 4-6 weeks with broken foot

CHRIS PRONGER TO UNDERGO FOOT SURGERY MATT WALKER RECOVERING FROM SUCCESSFUL HIP SURGERY The Philadelphia Flyers announced today that defenseman Chris Pronger will undergo surgery this afternoon to repair a broken bone in his right foot, according to general manager Paul Holmgren. In addition, Holmgren also announced that defenseman Matt Walker underwent successful hip surgery on Thursday. Pronger will have his procedure at 1pm to repair a broken first metatarsal in his right foot. The surgery will be performed by Dr. Steven Raikin

Flyers-Penguins most-watched since 2003

The Pittsburgh/Philadelphia NHL game Tuesday night was the most watched regular season game ever on VERSUS (beating the 2010/11 season opener on 10/07/10 featuring Philly/Pittsburgh, 730,000 viewers). It was also the most watched regular season NHL telecast on cable since 12/04/03 (Detroit/St Louis on ESPN; 758,000 viewers).
