Flyers Face Franchise Defining Draft

Here's an unnecesary guide to what is basically an unnecesary draft coming up for the Flyers in a week's time. 1st Round - the 25th pick overall is sitting in Toronto as a result of the Versteeg deal 2nd Round - the 56th pick overall is sitting in Phoenix as a result of the Carcillo deal 3rd Round - Our actual pick, 86, is in Toronto also as part of the Versteeg deal, but we parlayed Dan Hamhuis' rights into the 84th pick overall from Pittsburgh 4th Round - We have the 116th overall and we also got the 118th in the Gagne trade 5th Round - the 146th overall pick is in Detroit in exchange for Ville Leino 6th Round - 176 7th Round - 206 So just like last year we don't have a pick until the end of the 3rd round. It goes 84, 116, 118, 176, 206. 5 picks. But sometimes when you roll the dice you get lucky right?

The Boston Bruins Win the Stanley Cup

You do the hokey pokey and you turn yourself around, and that's what it's all about . Tyler Seguin's name is being engraved on the Stanley Cup. Kaberle, Seidenberg, Marchand, Campbell, Peverley, Ryder, Horton…shit they'll probably even make an exception for Steve Kampfer. Savard too

Meltzer’s Musings: Stanley Cup Goalie Capology

One of the most common arguments against signing Ilya Bryzgalov to a contract that will carry a heavy cap hit is that spending too heavily on goaltending cuts so deeply into a club's all-around depth that it cannot win the Stanley Cup. I decided to put that idea to the test.
