Hits Keep Coming: Darroll Powe to Minnesota

My mind must be attached to my hair, because I'm losing it. You sign Andreas Nodl and Tom Sestito and trade Darroll Powe for a 3rd round pick in the 2087 draft, all in the same day? I can only imagine a Carcillo signing is right around the corner, followed by a Coburn trade for the complete Small Wonder boxed set. THIS IS THE SAME GENERAL MANAGER THAT IS PAYING JODY SHELLEY $1.1M FOR THE NEXT TWO SEASONS! I'm fine with the Carter trade, although not the Richards - yeah, that's sinking in

That puts them a shade over $10 million under the salary cap and there is rampant speculation general manager Paul Holmgren will make a play for Tampa Bay Lightning restricted free agent Steven Stamkos if the Lightning cannot re-sign the mega-star before July 1. With the Flyers still needing to sign restricted free agents Jakub Voracek, Wayne Simmonds, Darroll Powe, Andreas Nodl and possibly Dan Carcillo -- not to mention UFA Ville Leino -- I just don't see there being enough money to satisfy Stamkos' request for $7 million a year. I can, however, see the Flyers pursuing Bruins winger Michael Ryder on July 1
