Meltzer’s Musings: Expectations for Lilja

When free agency opened on July 1, the Flyers added three players (Jaromir Jagr, Max Talbot and Andreas Lilja) who are the owners of at least one Stanley Cup ring. Of the three acquisitions, the signing of Lilja was the one that got the most indifferent response. Flyers add Trenton Titans as ECHL affiliate

The Flyers have brought the Trenton Titans back to life. At a press conference today in Trenton Comcast-Spectacor president Peter Luukko, who also happens to the the Flyers' president, announced that the Titans would be the East Coast Hockey League affiliate of the Flyers, joining the AHL Adirondack Phantoms. “The Philadelphia Flyers and the Comcast-Spectacor Family of Companies are excited to be affiliated with the Trenton Titans,” Luukko said in a statement. “As our ECHL affiliate, we’re confident that our prospects will be playing in an environment here in Trenton that will help them develop their ultimate potential.” The Titans played an an unaffiliated team from 1999-2007 and won the Kelly Cup in 2005

If you had to rank Ilya Bryzgalov against the other starting goalies in the NHL, where would place him? Shortly before the start of the 2011 playoffs, an ESPN fantasy hockey columnist ranked Bryzgalov 10th in the NHL in terms of expected wins, goals against average and save percentage in 2011-12.
