Flyers sign Jagr, Talbot, Lilja, Voracek

Talk about righting a wrong. Twenty-one years after failing to take him with the fourth pick of the 1990 NHL draft -- they took Mike Ricci instead -- the Flyers shocked the hockey world by signing 39-year-old Jaromir Jagr to a one-year deal worth $3.3 million. The Flyers have also signed third-line center Max Talbot, a hard-edged third-line center to a five-year deal.

Meltzer’s Musings: Free Agency Friday

I will keep this morning's blog brief, but update it as needed during the day. There is a variety of potential moves the Flyers are considering on the first day of free agency, and much of it is contingent on how the Ville Leino negotiations turn out. Paul Holmgren contacted Leino's agent, Bill Zito, on Tuesday and the two sides have spoken several times since then
