Does Lavy Know How To Handle Rookies?

Courtesy: Philadelphia Flyers Peter Laviolette Â is obviously an accomplished coach. He won a Stanley Cup with a Carolina Â team that still doesnâ€™t get a ton of respect (fromÂ myself includedâ€¦lucky bastards). And we still praise him for his magical timeouts in 2010, most notably the one from game 7Â againstÂ Boston Â when we were down 3-0 in the first period. However, I think weâ€™re overlooking a major flaw of his that hampers the team significantly. He doesnâ€™t seem to know how to handle rookies.

Schenn out with broken foot

Prized rookie Brayden Schennâ€™s first stint with the Flyers didnâ€™t last long. Four games into his call-up from the AHL, Schenn broke his right foot in the Flyersâ€™ 5-1 loss to Montreal on Wednesday night and will be sidelined for 4-to-6 weeks. Schenn, 20, was injured with the Flyers killing a penaltyÂ 1:48 into the game. Defending in the high slot, Schenn was struck while in the direct line of a hard one-timer by Montreal defenseman P.K
