Successful third period comebacks have not been a recent Flyers specialty. With their comeback win in overtime over the New York Islanders last night, Philly has now won twice in 29 tries since the start of last season (1-6-0 this season, 1-16-5 last year) when trailing after two periods. Frankly, the Flyers probably wouldn't have won this one, either, if Sergei Bobrovsky hadn't been brilliant

Brennan (33) celebrates with new Buffalo Sabres teammate Thomas Vanek after scoring a second-period goal in his NHL debut Wednesday against the Boston Bruins Moorestown native T.J. Brennan showed what he can bring Wednesday night in his NHL debut for the Buffalo Sabres. A 22-year-old defenseman who’s best known for his offensive skill, Brennan scored a second-period goal for the Sabres in their 4-3 shootout home loss to the Boston Bruins

Flyers Quarterpole Comparison: This Year Vs Last Year

20 games in, how do we look compared to last year? (Courtesy: David Bearden) Heading into tonights game against the New York Islanders , the Flyers  have already played 20 games. That marks approximately 25% of the season so far. I wanted to take a look at how they compare to last seasons team at this same point in the season.
