The Flyers and Penguins are together again in new NHL realignment The Flyers will be staying with their division rivals … and get two more. The NHL Board of Governors approved a new four-conference realignment Monday night that has the Flyers still with current division foes Pittsburgh, New Jersey, both New York teams, plus Carolina and Washington. The four conferences, which replace the current format of six divisions and two conferences, go into play next season and also include a new playoff format.
