Flyers lock up Grossmann

The Flyers and defenseman Nick Grossmann fell in love rather quickly. Traded from Dallas to Philly before this season's trade deadline, Grossmann bypassed on an opportunity to become an unstricted free agent on July 1 by signing a multi-year contract with the Flyers on Friday. Grossmann, 27, is a big, strong blueliner who has helped the Flyers made up for the loss of captain Chris Pronger, who was lost for the season due to post-concussion syndrome in November. The Flyers acquired Grossman on Feb. 13 for two draft picks - a 2012 second-rounder and a 2013 third-rounder
