Oskars Bartulis interview December 17

Oskars Bartulis talks about getting inserted into the lineup after Pronger’s injury.

Carcillo, Bartulis back in Flyers’ lineup

Winger Dan Carcillo will replace rookie James van Riemsdyk and rookie defenseman Oskars Bartulis will replace Ryan Parent in tonight’s Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Fiinals. Carcillo has been a healthy scratch since Game 4 of the conference finals against the Montreal Canadiens when Jeff Carter replaced him in the lineup. Bartulis has not played since Game 2 of the first round series against the Devils. Look for Carcillo to be reunited with Simon Gagne and Mike Richards on the top line, while Jeff Carter slides down to a third line with Claude Giroux and Arron Asham. That would give the Flyers scoring threats on their top three lines while not disrupting the second line of Danny Briere, Ville Leino and Scott Hartnell. The return of Carcillo is no great surprise, but throwing Bartulis into a Stanley Cup Final is risky. Parent played just 41 seconds in Game 1, when Troy Brouwer scored on Parent’s only shift of the game. Bold and risky move by Peter Laviolette, who likely will play Bartulis sparingly tonight Continue reading
