Final Grade Is In (Courtesy: YardBarker) No, the title is not a typo. It’s been 7 days since the Blackhawks swooped in from Chicago , and won the Stanley Cup on our home ice. It’s still painful, but it’s an event frozen in history forever. There’s no going back, there’s no changing it. There was one great moment of glory in these past few days, and this was on Tuesday night. Comcast Sportsnet aired a replay of the Game 7 against Boston . The game was fun as hell to watch as it happened, but soooooo much more relaxing and enjoyable to see it replayed, knowing how it ended. Reliving Lavy’s timeout and reading his lips again

  Enjoy it Chi-town...ugh (Courtesy: YardBarker) How fitting is it that a 21 year old with a mullet scores the game winning goal in overtime to clinch the Stanley Cup ? A guy who the Flyers could have had, when we were the worst team in hockey and ended up with the 2nd pick in the draft rather than the 1st. Anyway, congratulations to the Chicago Blackhawks on becoming the 2009-2010 Stanley Cup Champions. Congrats to the city of Chicago , for having their 49 year drought end. And of course, congrats to Jeff Bartl from BlackhawkUp for winning a few cheesesteaks . So another summer begins with the Flyers not holding the trophy. If your reading this, you already know that they were eliminated in Game 6 last night, on a goal by Patrick Kane in overtime

Because the Flyers have looked better throughout most of the series. Because the ‘Hawks best players have done almost nothing. Because the Flyers have started to get contributions from across the board. Still, both teams have managed to defend their home territory

  Will Flyers dominate again? (Courtesy: YardBarker)    So apparently Carter is not ready to come back in this series after all. He just began skating, and is not close to game shape. Makes sense, the guy has missed a ton of time lately. When he returned for the last two regular season games and the first round he didn’t look like himself. Now that’s he’s missed even more time, it’s a good idea to not rush him back. Then again, if his endurance is up, the best move is to get him playing. I understand that people are worried about disrupting chemistry

So here it is... After the epic collapse of the Washington Crapitals and their Norris-candidate chump choked, we hit the road to head up north to Bahstan, home of the Beanpot and the Killer Molasses Flood of 1919 . What they've also got up there is a similarly under-achieving regular season team who has turned it on in the playoffs, just like our Flyers. So it's almost fitting that these two teams will square off in the Eastern Conference Semi-finals like two delirious and slightly punch drunk foes. It's going to be epic. Like a mythical battle between Tommy Sullivan and Joe Frazier, this is gonna be one for the ages. Of course we're going to be without Carter, Gags and Lappy, but what surprise is that really? All season long this team has faced adversity, and each time it's come roaring back
